Visa
Sponsorship: The majority of consultants will
be sponsored by The NAFTA (TN) visa. This visa has a
one-year duration renewable every year for 12 years.
The advantage of the TN is it is far easier to get and
only applies to Canada and Mexico and takes 4-6 weeks
to receive. The B1 visa is a business visa sponsored
by MCC. This visa is for training or short-term business
trips. This visa lasts for up to 6 months and takes
1-2 days to apply for. Upon eligibility, MCC will assist
with obtaining visas (TD, H-4) for family members of
its consultants.
Salary: All MCC consultants are paid a salary
that is above the industry average for the area in which
they work. Consultants will have their first salary
review after 6 months, their second review at one year,
and then an annual salary reviews thereafter.
Health Benefits: MCC offers full medical and
dental coverage for each consultant. Complete details
on our medical benefits plan can be found on MCC’s
website or in your job offer package.
Other Benefits: All MCC consultants are given
13 paid time off days annually, this includes vacation,
sick and compensation days; plus 6 paid holidays.
Relocation: MCC pays for the relocation of
each consultant to his or her place of work in the United
States. This includes airfare and temporary lodging
in their new place of work. MCC will also provide assistance
in finding an apartment.
Hometown Grant: MCC strongly believes in giving
back to the community. MCC will provide a grant of USD
$1000 in each consultant’s name to the church,
community center, or education center from the consultant’s
local community after completion of 6 months of successful
consulting in the United States.
"Next-Door" Develpment Center: MCC
has "next-door" software development center
in Mexico City and Mazatlan to provide software develpment
services to its U.S. and Mexican clientele in order
to capitalize on the high growth trend of "next-door"
outsourcing. Successful consultants will have the opportunity
to join us in our "next-door" development
center when they decide to return to Mexico.
Cost of Living Comparison: The cost of living
in the United States varies dramatically between cities.
If a consultant earns $60,000 a year in Dallas, Texas,
he or she would have to earn $157,000 to have the equivalent
lifestyle in San Francisco and $263,000 in New York
City. When evaluating salary offers, please pay close
attention to what city an offer is for and whether a
cost of living allowance (COLA) is included. MCC will
always adjust salaries accordingly to what area a consultant
is working and includes market rates for your skillset.
In other words, a consultant will receive an appropriate
COLA for higher cost cities. Below is a standard comparison
of cost living between cities. The base line is $55,000
in Dallas. Please look at http://verticals.yahoo.com/cities/salary.html
to run your own comparison. The below comparison does
not mean that is your salary equivalent, but serves
as a cost of living equivalent

Living
Expenses: The single largest living expense
you will face when you relocate to the United States
is housing. Housing costs vary dramatically from place
to place. A one-bedroom apartment in San Francisco is
over $2,500 a month but the same one in Dallas, TX is
only $600 per month. Additionally, each state has a
different tax. Some states have an income tax and other
do not. Here is a breakdown of expected living expenditures
for two different cities, Dallas, Texas and San Francisco,
CA. For Dallas, a salary of $55,000 will be used and
for San Francisco, a salary of $90,000 will be used.
These are the median salaries for a software engineer
with 5 years of U.S. experience and a Computer Science
degree.

As
can be seen, the larger salary in San Francisco is more
than offset by the much higher cost of living. There
are suburbs of San Francisco that offer lower cost housing
in the $1200-$1500 range but they require a substantial
commute.
